BOWDEN Mrs. Nell Bowden, 79 of Augusta, former longtime Lilburn resident and wife of the late Mr. Talmadge Arton Bowden, died Sunday, September 12, 1999 in Augusta. A native of Thomson, GA, Mrs. Bowden was a longtime member of Brookhaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven, GA. Survivors include one son, Dr. Talmadge A. Bowden, Jr.

He was born in Norwich, England October 20, 1928. Son of the late Albert and Jessie Chapman. He served in the British Royal Army Corps of Engineers and later became a Civil Engineer working with architectural pre-cast concrete.

Mr. Chapman was a long-time member of Rotary International and worker with Boy Scouts. Mr. Gregory, a long time resident of the Atlanta area was born in Raleigh, NC, on February 10, 1924. He was a decorated veteran of World War and served in the Army Air Corps as an officer piloting B24s. He was a graduate of the Wake Forest University School of Law. Mr.

Gregory retired as an executive with Massey Ferguson. He was a member of Wieuca Road Baptist Church. Mr. Gregory is survived by his wife, Fanester James Gregory, his mother, Mrs. Helen Stewart Gregory of Marietta; his daughter, Joan Gregory of Marietta; son, Jim Gregory, daughter in-law, Roslyn Redfearn Gregory, grandchildren, Jack, Rob and Lee Anne Gregory, all of Plano, Texas.

Morrison was a former Superintendent of Pelham City Schools, who retired in 1979 after 43 years in education. Active in community affairs, Mr. Morrison was Pelham's Citizen of the Year in 1974. As a member of the Pelham Lion's Club, serving in every official capacity, Mr. Morrison was elected for two consecutive terms as Governor of District 18C of GA.

He also served as a Georgia Education Association Director from 1966-1969. For many years, Mr. Morrison served as a Deacon for the First Baptist Church. After dedicating his life to academic excellence, Mr. Morrison retired and moved to Thomasville, where he became involved with Kiwanis, later serving as President of Golden K.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, the former Amanda Lucille McCorvey; a daughter, Mary Ann Johnson of Snellville; 2 sons, Dorsey D. Morrison, Jr. of Tucker and John N. Morrison of Atlanta; and five grandchildren. A daughter, Amanda Morrison Horne preceded him in death in 1988.

in Snellville, GA. Billie was originally from Long Island, N.Y. and daughter of Professor Newton D. and Elmira Nichols. As a child, Billie enjoyed sailing in and around the Long Island Sound.

She attended William and Mary College and graduated at age 19 from Alfred University in upstate New York. She became a registered nurse and did her intern work at Bellevue Hospital in NYC. She became a stewardess with American Airlines and flew on DC-3's in the late 30's. On a trip through Cleveland she met future husband Clarence J. (Skip) Wing of Berea, Ohio.

Billie gave up work to raise her two sons. In 1953 the family moved to Atlanta, and Billie eventually returned to nursing at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, GA. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. Wing who died April 28, 1992. She is survived by her two sons, Bill Wing of Conyers, GA, and Robert Wing of Cumming, GA.

The body was cremated and laid to rest with her husband in the Stone Mountain Cemetery. Anyone wishing to remember Billie may make a donation to The American Cancer Society.
